Work Examples | Year FourSteamYear Four went full steam ahead on their latest trip, arriving at Steam in no time at all. All the teachers and group leaders were proud to take such a well-behaved group and were particularly amazed by all the children’s keen participation in the role-play activities.
Following a whistle stop tour of the railway village we pulled on the breaks and carried out some careful sketching. We will be developing these and our line and tone art skills back at school soon. Images from our delightful day have been the inspiration for some amazing poetry. Here’s one Year 4b created… Standing still the tower is a token of the past. Biscuit coloured battered poles supporting the limbs of the mighty water tower. Overnight , mysterious blue graffiti appeared with its taunting smile. Who dares to scramble up the abandoned ladders. which are ready to retire. Smashed and jagged windows saying, “keep out, stay away!”. Proud railings hugging the watery treasure . Roman LifeWe all had a wonderful sunny day visiting the Roman Museum, amphitheatre and barracks at Caerleon. . The children loved pretending to be gladiators and Roman soldiers, and finding out all sorts of interesting facts about life in Roman times.
We had such a brilliant time, the children were inspired to write a special poem to mark the day. Magnificent man made mounds, Cracked and crumbled, ancient stones still standing silently proud and tall.
